Dalit Youth Shot Dead in Uttar Pradesh

As Dalit defiance poured out in the Bharat bandh across north India, tensions eclipsed three towns in Uttar Pradesh on 6 April. The murder of a BSP leader in Meerut and desecration of Dr Ambedkar’s statue in Ferozabad and Etah were reportedly the reasons for violence in those areas, Daily Pioneer reported.

After the Bharat Bandh of April 2, a list titled "Dalit vandals and arsonits from Shobhapur", was circulating on the social media in the village of Meerut district.

There was total 83 names on the list among them first one was that of Gopi Pariya. A 28 years old Bahujan Samaj Party worker. Gopi was dead after three days, he was shot five times.

According to Indian Express police have registerd an FIR against four mens based on a complaint from Gopi's father Tarachand, a local BSP leader.
