Seven workers die while manual scavenging incident in Andhra Pradesh




Seven workers died in a case of manual scavenging at venkateswara hatcheries in andhrapradesh chitoor district on Friday.
The seven dead workers were indentified as Ramesh, Ramachandra, Reddappa, Kesavan, Govinda Swami, Babu and Shiva.  They were employed by a private contractor.
The local media reported that  Eight workers fell unconscious minutes after they enterd the septic tank, They were immediately shifted to a government hospital by colleages. Four workers were declared brought dead at the hospital and  three others sucmbed during emergeny treatment at hospital. One of the workers is said to be out of danger.
The company has announced a compensation of Rs 15 lakh compensation each to the families of the deceased while the state government will pay them Rs 10 lakh each, according to IANS.
